National Services Surgical Coordinator (Band 4)


The post holder will play a key role within the multi-disciplinary National Services Surgical Services, coordinating all aspects of the three services within this remit: the Scottish Paediatric Epilepsy Surgery Service (SPESS), Ear Reconstruction and Atresia Service (EARS), and Scottish National Spinal Service (SNSS).


The post holder has sole responsibility and the lead role in ensuring appropriate day-to-day administrative coordination of the National Services Surgical Services across Scotland.


The post holder will coordinate joint working and communication with all members of the National Services Surgical Service and the wider team.


The post holder will coordinate and process patient appointments for both multidisciplinary, single speciality and audit clinics, ensuring efficient clinic management.

The post holder will be responsible for the organisation of the inpatient waiting list for the National Services Surgical Services.

Important role specifications
-
Requirement to travel: Some MDT meetings are conducted in onsite at RHCYP and also at children's hospitals in other cities (Glasgow, Dundee and Aberdeen). There are 10 MDT meetings a year. MDT meetings take place on Fridays, and this post holder will need to be prepared to travel to attend MDTs in other cities with the rest of the team.


Working from home:
The post holder will work out of RHCYP and have a designated desk in the Clinical Offices. Additionally, this post holder may work from home at their discretion.

However, some duties can only be conducted onsite (at RHCYP and other hospitals), such as attending MDT meetings, and this post holder will be expected to work onsite on occasions when required by such duties.
