Job Title:

Nursery Practitioner (Level 2 or 3)

Location:

YMCA Pelsall Lane Day Nursery, Walsall, WS4 1NG

Responsible to:

Nursery Manager

Working Hours:

40 hours a week

Job Role:

  • Motivated by child development, contribute to a team providing high-quality care for children from birth to 5 years.
  • Ensure a welcoming environment where children and families can feel valued and receive support.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support and guide parents/carers to enhance their skills and boost confidence.
  • Maintain a safe, stimulating learning environment following EYFS guidelines.
  • Plan and deliver effective activities for children's development.
  • Provide learning experiences promoting independence and confidence.
  • Monitor children's progress and maintain records.
  • Collaborate with professionals and assist in child care.
  • Ensure safety procedures, cleanliness of the room, and equipment.
  • Participate in training and comply with policies and regulations.
  • Undertake additional duties as needed.

Person Specification

Nursery Practitioner

Qualification

  • Childcare qualification NVQ, equivalent, or higher

Experience

  • Experience in diverse environments and commitment to equal opportunities.

Skills

  • Knowledge of Ofsted Standards and EYFS
  • Ability to speak multiple languages

General

  • Ability to travel between sites
  • First aid qualification
  • Respect and communicate the YMCA's ethos
