Description
We are recruiting for a Named Animal Care and Welfare Officer (NACWO) to join our client based in Exeter. Our client is the fastest growing UK Research facility with some of the world's most influential scientists. They are rapidly expanding centre of international excellent research.As a NACWO, you will be required to work with the academic and technical staff within the rodent facility. You will assist with animal experimentation and monitoring as well as training new staff members and assisting colleagues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work with the Senior BSU Manager/ Head of Biological Services to help ensure that the company is fully compliant with ASPA at all times and that there is an excellent culture of care within the facilities
- Actively using Home Office License for experimental procedures
- Assisting with animal experimentation and monitoring
- Helping to train new staff members
- Preparing risk assessments and SOP's
- Daytoday husbandry tasks
- Support all animal research and related tasks
- Support the team on a daytoday husbandry of animals and help provide administrative support when needed
Job Requirements:
- Certified NACWO (Named Animal Care and Welfare Officer)
- PIL License Holder (Modules A
- B)
- Animal Technician experience in a research facility
- Previous experience working in a rodent BSU facility
- BSc or higher in Biological Sciences or equivalent

£32,500.00-£42,000.00 per year
