About Shout Out for the Arts

  • Shout Out for the Arts
  • Warwickshire _is the name for Warwickshire's Cultural Education Partnership (LCEP). An LCEP is a group of local partners, organisations and individuals who work together to support children and young people to fulfil their creative potential and access highquality cultural experiences.
  • Shout Out for the Arts_ is a youth led partnership with a youth board and students in schools called Arts Ambassadors. They aim to give children and young people in Warwickshire a voice to 'shout' for access to arts and culture. Current partner organisations on the LCEP include Child Friendly Warwickshire, Compton Verney Art Gallery and Park, Heritage and Culture Warwickshire, Warwickshire Libraries, Motionhouse, Royal Shakespeare Company, Rugby Art Gallery and Museum and Warwickshire County Council.
The next 2 years is a period of development for _Shout Out for the Arts_.

Having completed 12 months of pilot activity, _Shout Out for the Arts_ wants to build upon its successes and work towards creating more local youth board across Warwickshire.

The Role
The coordinator's role is to deliver the activity plan in the _Shout Out for the Arts_ Strategy.

Over the next 2 years, _Shout Out for the Arts _has a clear aim to establish local youth boards in Rugby Borough and Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough.

Establishing the Rugby board will involve working closely with Rugby Art Gallery and Museum to build a network of organisations and individuals with the capacity and priority to support young people on a youth board.

The coordinator will lead on the recruitment of the young people to a youth board.

They will then work in partnership with Rugby Art Gallery and Museum to facilitate the development of the youth board, supporting the young people to become young producers, using arts and culture to shout out for what's important to them.

We see this as a two-year process with the outcome being a functioning board of young people supported by a network of cultural organisations and individuals in Rugby and the wider county of Warwickshire.

In Nuneaton and Bedworth the youth board creation is connected to the _Creative Explorer's_ project, part of a programme funded by Arts Council England and Nuneaton & Bedworth Borough Council.

A network of organisations and individuals who can support the young people already exists. The coordinator will need to work within this network and bring in additional organisations and individuals.

The _Creative Explorer's_ programme is funding _Shout_ Out for the Arts_ to create a youth board to ensure youth voice is part of the programme.

The development of the Nuneaton and Bedworth youth board is an 18 month project.

This is a grant funded post being managed by Heritage and Culture Warwickshire, part of Warwickshire County Council. The post holder will be expected to travel and work in locations in Rugby and Nuneaton and Bedworth. The post is offered as a two-year fixed term contract, working three days a week.

For the first 18 months of the contract, 2 of these days will be focused on the project in Nuneaton and Bedworth.

The post holder will be able to determine their working days as Warwickshire County Council operates a flexible working policy.

The post will be line managed by the Senior Learning and Community Engagement Officer for Heritage and Culture Warwickshire.
