Duties of the Finance Business Partner:

  • Manage a portfolio of Sports and Partners, build strong working relationships through the use a business partnering approach to support and oversee the management of the grant funding and the delivery of the assurance programme
  • Provide support internally and externally to help with the implementation of the investment decision processes and ensure that all GFAs are up to date with the latest Investment amounts and conditions
  • Monitor and evaluate budgets throughout the cycle including initial budget submission reviews, quarterly meetings with the sports, annual investment reviews and close working with the Performance and Sport System teams regarding case management in orderto drive efficiencies and safeguard grant expenditure.
  • Communicate effectively to internal and external stakeholders to ensure information is captured correctly, and policies and tasks are clear to help sports and partners deliver against their responsibilities
  • Responsible for the day to day to management of the Sport Investment budget, ensuring grant awards are accurately captured and changes to cash flows are logged and reported to the Finance team via the monthly review meeting
  • Lead how the team collects, analyses and informs through access to systemwide data
  • Coordinates the reporting process for the quarterly investment reporting
  • Maintain the risk register for all sport investments

Requirement for the role:


  • Excellent communications skills
  • Proficient in the use of spreadsheets and financial modelling
  • Experience with data analytics and financial budget information
  • Experience within the Sports Market is desirable
