We have a client who is looking for ideally an _
enthusiastic and talented Textile Designer_ - and will consider talented new graduates to join their dynamic design team.

You will have the opportunity to travel to their mills in China and India together with representing the company at various Textile Trade Shows in Europe and beyond.

You will also visit and meet with their clients while developing the collections with the top home furnishing brands in the UK and Ireland.

JOB DESCRIPTION
You will be based at our Design Studio, Offices and Showroom near Watford, Hertfordshire.

Your responsibilities will include product design creation, market research and colour trend forecasting for the furnishing fabric sector.

You will be joining a dynamic design team plus admin and accounts personnel who work closely with our Mills in China and India as well as our customers nationwide.

The role will involve working closely with their Mills and their clients to create, develop and finalize new collections with the top home furnishing brands in the UK and Ireland.

The position will require you to travel occasionally overseas to attend Trade Shows in Germany, Italy and beyond, as well as regularly travelling to the Mills main design studios in Mumbai and China.

You will be assisting our clients from Mood boards the inception of the design through to its final selection.

You will be working with critical paths and design development - working towards target dates and deadlines.

• 60% of your work will be design and 40% admin, travel and communication.

EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

You must be UK based.

• You must be driven, ambitious and passionate about têxtiles, trends and innovation.
• Excellent artistic and creative skills including hand drawing and CAD skills
• Good Computer skills Photoshop and Microsoft Office and ideally AVA.
• You must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, together with a strong personality to help maintain and strengthen relationships with our clients and suppliers.
• An excellent team player working efficiently and proactively to achieve the company goals
• Accuracy and attention to detail with the ability to give and receive constructive feedback
• BA, BSC or MA Graduate specialist in weave, print, embroidery or surface pattern.
• Full UK Driving Licence preferred.
