Compliance Officer
The UK division of a leading global insurer is currently seeking a
Compliance Officer to join the team. This will be a
12-month fixed-term contract to cover maternity leave.
This role will be based in
Sevenoaks, with the potential to work from home a few days a week.
This company offers a large portfolio of innovative products, targeted directly towards corporate, legal and financial organisations in a business-to-business environment.
They are one of the leading insurers of risks involving property and property finance.About the role:
- Assist in the delivery of the Compliance business plan.
- Ensure that the company complies with existing regulations and internal policies
- Ensure that all new regulatory developments and requirements are incorporated into the company's policy and procedures across the UK.
- Manage regulatory submissions and provide Compliance training, technical guidance, support, and tailored feedback on regulatory issues relevant to the business.
- Monitor new regulatory developments and legislation that affect the business and operation of the company.
- Facilitate the identification and implementation of procedures, controls, and changes to ensure compliance requirements are adhered to.
- Provide advice and support to the business on a range of issues including regulatory supervision, financial, operational and other regulatory implications of new business proposals and on FCA & PRA regulations, DPA/GDPR, Senior Managers and CertificationRegime and the Consumer Duty.
- You will understand and implement oversight and audit requirements with particular emphasis on appointed representatives and outsourcing.
- Prepare compliance reports for Board and Executive Management meetings
- Provide general assistance on legal matters as required
About You:
- Good working knowledge of UK compliance and regulatory laws + knowledge of the FCA and PRA handbooks
- You will ideally have an insurance background including experience of the IDD (possessing a relevant qualification for the role).
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, combined with a flair for relationship building.
- The ability to grasp complex issues and communicate complex messages, both in writing and verbally
- Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
- High attention to detail
- Able to organise and prioritise a varied and busy workload
- Independent and able to work on your own initiative but also able to function effectively in a team environment.
- Have a selfmotivated, pragmatic and principled approach to work.
