We are seeking someone who is driven and enthusiastic to join our existing experienced Finance Team. This is an exciting opportunity for a confident and motivated individual wishing to further their career in accountancy.

You will report to one of our Finance Business Partners, carrying out, and/or leading on, a variety of tasks providing support across the Council Directorates, including revenue and capital budget monitoring, budget setting, closure of accounts, completion of statutory Government returns, and processing of grant claims.

You will also supervise junior members of the team.

You will be as comfortable working with, and communicating appropriately with, budget managers and non-finance staff, as you are with fellow finance staff, and will be skilled in building successful working relationships and providing appropriate challenge when needed.

Although working in Finance, you will be working closely with operational staff within Council Directorates, so there is plenty of opportunity for getting out of the office and getting a feel for the services behind the figures.
