An exciting post has become available for a qualified ACP on our Acute Medical Unit and Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC)Unit.

We are looking to appoint a dynamic enthusiastic practitioner into this post to help us in delivering our goal of delivering outstanding care and treatment to the community of Blackpool, Wyre and Fylde.


The main duties of the post holder will need to be clinically focused and deliver outstanding evidenced based care to our patients.

The post holder will clerk patients, plan and assess their care and then work within the larger team to discharge within agreed pathways.


The acute medical services are delivered across 3 areas; the AMU department which is a 35 bedded unit treating all range of medical presentations.

The second area is the Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC) The short stay ward.

The post holder will be responsible for deliver care and treatment in both of these areas as patient demands change.


As one of the United Kingdom's largest coastal resort, Blackpool has plenty to offer its residents - it's not just a good place to work; it's a great place to live.

In addition to its bustling centre and historic seafront, the town is world famous for its many attractions, including the famous Blackpool Tower.

Blackpool also offers a number of scenic cycling routes round our local parks and across the surrounding countryside, as well as boasting panoramic views of the coast on its picturesque Promenade.

Due to Blackpool's convenient location, Edinburgh in the north and London in the south can be reached within three hours by train.

The post holder will be an independent practitioner working within the larger multi-disciplinary team (MDT). The MDT consists of the nursing, medical, pharmacy and IAT among others.

The main responsibilities will be to direct patient care and treatment to ensure excellent services are provided to the patients.

A large element of the role is service improvement and quality improvement initiatives to advance (s) our services forward.

The post holder will be comfortable with change management and have a proven record of service development and or redesign within their portfolio.
