Description

This is an exciting opportunity to join our Sense Active team, as we embark on a new four-year Sport England funded project, 'Active Lifestyles'.

This is a fixed contract to support our funded project, ending in March 2027.

Over the next 4 years we will grow our programme by reaching new people and new communities across the country.

Our ambition is to enable more people with complex disabilities to have access to the physical, mental, and social benefits of being active.

We've learned through our work to date that a person-centred approach is critical to the experiences people have, and we pride ourselves on giving people the time and space to engage with sport and physical activity in a way that best suits them.

We are looking for someone who has previous project coordination experience, particularly in setting up new activities, and who can build strong partnerships.

The role requires connecting and communicating with a team who work remotely across the country, so the ability to work as a team and independently is key.

Key Responsibilities

Coordinate the delivery of a sustainable sport and physical activity programme across Birmingham, Coventry, Solihull and Warwickshire, and the Black Country, organising virtual and face-to-face activities and recruiting people with complex disabilities in line with KPIs.

Develop local partnerships with organisations in the Sport & Leisure, and Health & Social Care sectors, to support the promotion of, recruitment to, and delivery of the project.

Monitor the programme effectively, recording participant details and attendance, and ensuring programme delivery is within budget, providing feedback and reports as necessary.

Coordinate and deliver formal and informal workforce development opportunities for the sport and care sectors, ensuring they feel confident delivering and supporting activities for people with complex disabilities.

Key skills and experience
Successful track record of developing and recruiting people to community-based programmes in a sustainable manner.
Experience of developing successful partnerships to deliver community-based programmes, meeting agreed targets.
Experience of monitoring and evaluating the impact of community-based programmes.
Ability to work effectively on a remote basis, and as part of a team.
Good time management with an ability to manage workloads, set priorities and meet strict deadlines.
Strong IT skills, with advanced use of Microsoft Office. With ability to create and manage excel spreadsheets to manage budgets/programmes.

Please note this role requires a willingness to travel regularly across the Midlands as required, occasionally on a national basis including overnight stays.
