1st Line Network Technician

Salary:
£25,000 - £30,000 Gross per annum


Location:
E1 8EU Hybrid


Your new role


As the 1st Line Network Technician you will assist with the day to day running of the Service Desk, working with our 2nd Line and 3rd Line network engineers, to provide client technical support and a high level of customer service.

The role is focused ontroubleshooting Broadband related incidents for one of our largest customers.

Some of your responsibilities will include but are not restricted to:

  • First line support handling customer enquiries and support issues using our ticketing system
  • Proactive network monitoring of alarms and traps for our customers via our monitoring tools
  • Troubleshooting DSL/Circuit faults and working with carriers to achieve fault resolution
  • Driving fault resolution to ensure SLA's are not breached
  • Escalation of faults/outages in accordance with Exponentiale procedures
Days of work will alternate weekly between Monday-Friday

Monday - Friday; alternating between early and late shifts to include 9am-5:30pm, 8am-4:30pm and 10am-6:30pm


What you'll need to succeed

To undertake the role of within our service desk team, you will have an understanding of networking fundamentals and be keen to learn.


Key skills:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure
  • Ability to handle customer queries over the phone in a polite and professional way.
  • Ability to work independently, with minimum supervision or as part of a team.
  • Basic understanding of networking fundamentals and broadband troubleshooting
  • Eager to learn and develop a career in networking
Ideally you will possess an industry standard certification (CCENT, CCNA, CompTIA A+) or a degree in Computer Networking. As well as proven experience within a customer facing role, ideally network/ IT related.
