Founded in 1981, Peak Pharmacy are a forward-thinking family owned business, comprising over 140 community pharmacies from Manchester to Milton Keynes.

As part of our commitment to empower our colleagues, we've launched the Peak Pharmacy Apprentice Academy. We have an exciting opportunity for a full time Apprentice Pharmacy Assistant to join the growing Peak Pharmacy family.


The apprenticeship


Guided by our expert team, and in partnership with leading training providers, you'll complete an extensive training programme covering all aspects of Pharmacy over an 18-month period.

This will include training on the medicines counter and in the dispensary. You'll be assigned a dedicated mentor to provide you with support during your apprenticeship.

At the end of the programme, you'll gain a recognised Level 2 qualification and may be offered a permanent position within the business.


The role

You will be responsible for:

  • Providing a high standard of service to deliver personcentred care, and to attract and retain customers.
  • Carrying out dispensing duties under the supervision of a pharmacist.
  • Receiving and checking in prescriptions, ensuring details are legible and complete, and collecting the appropriate levy or verifying exemption.
  • Promoting products and services to maximise branch sales.
  • Referring customers to the appropriate healthcare professional.
  • Receiving and storing incoming stock correctly to minimise damage, maintaining documentation, stock rotation, and notifying suppliers of discrepancies.
  • Carrying out regular housekeeping duties effectively, including maintaining the cleanliness of the branch to a high standard.
  • Performing cashing up and banking duties.

Hours
40 hours a week, Monday to Friday. You may be required to work Saturdays, but will be given time off during the week.


Salary
From £5.33 per hour depending on age and experience
