MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervising mentors and mentees to achieve SMART goals and complete the mentoring programme. Reviewing and monitoring mentoring safeguarding session logs and ensuring mentoring relationships are progressing positively. Building rapport with young people, ensuring they are supported and succeeding during the mentoring programme. This includes attending mentee social events and networking opportunities.
- Building relationships with new mentees, supporting them through the threemonth mentoring programme to graduation and setting expectations for them as mentees.
- Assisting with matching mentees and mentors based on the mentee's career goals or industry interests.
- Producing weekly summary reports on session logs and mentoring relationships. Reporting on any issues (missed meetings, punctuality, etc.) and successes to the Head of Programmes and wider team.
- Organising, attending and contributing to Mentor/Mentee teambuilding events and life skill enrichment activities.
- Establishing and maintaining regular contact with the parents/carers of mentees and roubleshooting any breakdown in communication, arising issues, or areas of concern.
- Actively promote safeguarding and escalate any safeguarding issues to the Head of Programmes/CPO and relevant Authority.
- Continuously seek opportunities and areas to improve mentoring programmes' delivery.
REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS
- Have exceptional relationshipbuilding skills with a range of stakeholders.
- Be a strong communicator who can engage with a variety of audiences.
- Strong experience and knowledge in using Salesforce, and data management.
- Intermediate level skills with the Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Powerpoint and Excel
- Ability to communicate effectively with a range of people, including students and young people, parents/carers, teachers and corporate professionals.
- Ability to maintain appropriate professional relationships and boundaries with young people.
- Proficient using technology and software programs, particularly microsoft office, google docs, and Salesforce.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Proficeient using CRM systems such as Salesforce
- Level 4 NVQ or above in relevant field work experience (e.g. teacher, social work, youth work, counselling, learning support assistant), or 2 years field experience working towards NVQ4 level
- Experience working with and/or mentoring disaffected, challenging young people to bring about positive outcomes.
- Knowledge of safeguarding children and young people.
