We are recruiting for an MDT Co-ordinator Cellular Pathology who shares our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.


We are seeking a MDT coordinator to join our busy Cellular Pathology Department at the Lister Hospital to provide administrative and clerical support to our team of Histology Consultants and Clinical Fellows.

Multidisciplinary team meetings (MDT's) are held to discuss all aspects of patient's diagnosis and management treatment. Cellular pathology reports for an integral part of the meeting and are presented by the Consultant Histopathologist.

This role is to prepare and organise histology and cytology cases for the MDT meetings.

The role is busy and high pressured at times to meet targets for cancer patients.

The post holder will need to work flexibly in reflection of service needs this may include an extended working day on occasion.

To organise slides and reports ready for presentation at MDT meetings. throughout the week.

To liaise with the lab and track samples through to ensure they are escalated for reporting prior to MDT.

To liaise with other department sand Trusts to gather referred material or pass referred material on.

To pass prepared meetings to the Consultant pathologist the day before to revise and present the cases.

To deal with correspondence, taking appropriate action including composing of routine and non-routine reply correspondence for consultants.

To participate and ensure a fair and even workload distribution within the administration team.
