Overall Objective
To work across the DC Thomson portfolio, creating distinct presentations and commercial assets in line with our brands.

The primary role is to support our commercial brand articulation through best-in-class document design, powerpoint decks and commercial assets, such as media packs.

Setting up templates for wider use across the business, so that all touchpoints with partners are of the highest standard and quality.


Key responsibilities

  • A full working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite
  • Indesign, Photoshop, Illustrator is essential. After Effects would be a bonus, as would online design programs like Adobe Express and Canva.
  • To work with the business and attend briefings if necessary, in order to understand the required outputs.
  • To be the expert in execution for commercial documentation. Working in live documents and responding quickly to feedback and requests.
  • Not accepting mediocre and raising our commercial design output to the same level as our brands.
  • To be a document expert and to offer accurate and solutionsbased design options for required output
  • To build and maintain a strong network across the DC Thomson organisation

Key requirements:


  • Good understanding of DC Thomson brands both in print and digital, to better support document work
  • A cando, adaptable attitude when it comes to using other tools such as Google Slides, Google Docs and Keynote.
  • A passion to explore new design trends and products understanding the necessary skills to create innovative new formats.
  • Desire to approach challenges with a solutionsbased attitude that support the sales, content and management teams
  • To ensure quality is upheld and work delivered on time.

  • Proactive, solutionbased attitude. Personable with strong communication skills and ability to forge strong networks and relationships.
  • Hunger and drive to bring executional excellence to DC Thomson documentation and pitch work
  • Ability to give and receive open and honest feedback essential in creating a strong team culture and helping elevate standard of the overall team.
  • Extremely organised with strong people skills and an eye for quality and detail.
  • A professional team player with a positive and cando attitude and works well under pressure.
  • Excellent influencing and communication skills, integrity and respect for confidentiality.

  • This is a fulltime, permanent position, working 35 hours per week. This is a hybrid role offering a blend of home and office working from our Meadowside Office.
