Purpose of the job:

To support the Team Leader in the daily operations within the Fabrication department to ensure the on time delivery of parts to our internal customers.

The machine operator will specialise in one area of the fabrication department, made up of Laser, Punch (Turret), Press Brakes, Pemming and Sub Assy / Kitting.


Communication
Effective and regular communication between department members.

In addition the post holder must engage in regular communication with their Team Leader


Key Accountabilities

  • Maintain a safe and tidy working environment
  • Work to company Health & Safety policy /procedures
  • Meet agreed delivery targets
  • Support overall factory scheduling needs.
  • Bring known problems to the Team Leaders attention
  • Encourage suggestions for business improvement.
  • Always carry a positive attitude and maintain a team mentality

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Operate fabrication equipment (after training given)
  • Assist in other aspects of the fabrication area
  • Identify different tasks and job No's so can be kept separate
  • Operate the ERP system (after training given)
  • Select correct stock if and when required
  • Maintain effective stock control at all time
  • Complete weekly maintenance checklist for machines
  • Take part in stocktaking activities

Employment & Educational Background

  • Computer literacy essential
  • Familiarity with an ERP system and computers would be an advantage.
