The Role


Reporting to the Managing Director and Production Manager, you will be working as part of our quality control team on a variety of tasks that are to be completed with precision and in a conscientious manner.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform inprocess, patrol, and final inspections of machined components, using various inspection tools and equipment, including a Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM)
  • Setting up the correct processes and procedures to achieve the quality objectives.
  • Inspection (first off, mid production & patrol, and final inspection) of machined components using a range measurement equipment.
  • Maintaining records and following procedures as per the Company's ISO9001 quality system.
  • Conducting internal audits across the company and preparing the company for external audits.
  • Liaising with colleagues, engineers, and management to ensure transparency, accountability, and punctuality is maintained throughout the quality control process
  • Review technical drawings and ensure that components conform to the required specifications
  • Identify and document any nonconformances and work with the production team to resolve any issues
  • Investigating customers NCRs
  • Support the production team in the development and improvement of machining processes
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections and test results, and communicate findings to management
  • Work collaboratively with the production team to ensure that components are produced efficiently and to the required quality standards
  • Participate in the maintenance and calibration processes of inspection equipment and ensure that it is in good working condition
  • Be flexible in their duties/responsibilities and perform other duties which reasonably correspond to the general character of their job and their level of responsibility.
  • Undertake overtime as and when required.
  • Maintain confidentiality of data and information that is sensitive to the Company, in line with Company policy and the Data Protection Act
  • Adhere to all Company's policies.

Qualifications, Experience, Skills & Training

  • At least 1 year of experience in quality inspection of machined components (ideally for F1, medical, and oil & gas industries)
  • Experience in setting and operating CNC machines (preferable)
  • Proficiency in the use of inspection tools and equipment (calipers, micrometers, gauges, shadowgraphs, optical measurement machines)
  • Experience of working within an ISO9001 QMS environment
  • Working within AS9100 or 13485 would be advantageous.
  • Thorough understanding of engineering drawings is required.
  • Experience in Root cause analysis and resolution, including rework of parts.
  • Knowledge and practical understanding of H&S, COSHH and environmental procedures

Job Types:

£12.50-£15.00 per hour
