Role Summary


To carry out assembly/welding operations as directed by the Welding Supervisor and any other Team Members who have a specific input into the job/project.


The Production Welder Fabricator is key to ensuring the efficient and on time flow through of fabricated items to finished products/stock.

Adhering to Quality Plan requirements and customer specifications.

  • A minimum of 3 years heavy structural steel welding and fabrication experience.
  • A confident selfstarter and technical welder who can interpret fabrication drawings, and weld and fabricate heavy gauge material without supervision.
  • A genuine passion for aesthetics and quality finished products, understanding how it is a crucial part of ensuring on specification delivery to our customers.
  • The ability to hit deadlines and achieve daily production schedules.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills, with the ability to confidently and professionally communicate obstacles in order for the Operations Teams to overcome them.
  • Must be able to work as part of a team in a fast paced environment, and be physically able to cope with typical factory duties including manual handling loads around kgs.
  • Counterbalance Forklift Truck experience and/or a previous License is essential.
  • Previous experience of being coded to BS EN ISO 9606 is highly desirable.
  • A valid Counterbalance Forklift Operator License would be advantageous, but is not essential.
  • A valid Overhead Gantry Crane Operator License would be advantageous, but is not essential.

Primary Responsibilities:


  • Read and work to technical fabrication drawings and specifications.
  • Position and weld up any steel pipe, boss or plate, as indicated on the fabrication drawings and Welding Procedure Specification (WPS) butt and fillet welds.
  • Conducting visual quality inspections of welded components against quality requirements and specifications.
  • Use of band saw, presses and other metalworking tooling and gas cutting equipment as required.
  • Achieving fabrication timescales and production rates, whilst reducing rework (right first time).
  • Working with mínimal supervision, displaying a strong pride in one's work and good eye to detail.
  • Maintaining a safe, clean and organised working environment and tools, working to Company Quality, Safety and Environmental System requirements.
  • Storing, handling and using all gas and chemicals in accordance with Safety Data Sheets, CoSHH and DSEAR Assessments. Reporting any concerns or anomalies to the H&S Manager.
  • Adhering to all Risk Assessments, Method Statements and Safe Systems of Work.
  • Adhoc duties to assist the Welding Supervisor, Project Manager and Operations Director with the smooth running of the factory as required.

Availability:
_We are seeking 1x Production Welder Fabricator._

Location:
_Factory Based - Holton Heath Trading Park, Poole._


Salary:
_£25,000 - £29,000 Dependent on Experience (approx. £12.00 to £14.00 p/h)._

Working Hours:
_Monday to Thursday 08:00 to 17:30. Friday 08:00 to 13:10 (total of 40 hours per week). Voluntary overtime available at overtime rates._

Holiday:
_20 days pro-rata plus the Christmas Shutdown period and UK Bank Holidays._
