Providing a high quality service to our patients is at the core of The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust. Therefore applicants will preferably have experience of working in a healthcare environment.

As the Lead for Quality Assurance you will be working very closely with the Trust's Chief Nurse, Medical Director, Divisional directors and Divisional Medical Directors to ensure the trust maintains effective integrated governance.

You must have excellent communication skills, a keen eye for detail, be adaptable, flexible, and innovative.

You must have the ability to work on your own as well as within a team and be highly motivated to deliver excellence.


The post is hybrid working and will be based at the London site of The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust, however as the specialties are cross site so the post holder is also expected to work at the Sutton, Kingston and Cavendish Square sites.


Is accountable to the Chief Nurse and the Deputy Director of Patient Safety and Quality Assurance for leading and monitoring the overall delivery of the Trust's Assurance strategy and framework, and all other services managed within the Clinical Assurance team, including Chairing relevant Trust committees within that remit.

  • Is responsible for the line management of the senior operational staff responsible for the management of Patient Information, Caldicott, Complaints, Clinical and Integrated Governance, Clinical Audit and specialist accreditations such as ISO and QSI.
  • Holds responsibility for the development, delivery and monitoring of the Trust assurance agenda, and provides leadership on the development of strategy and assurance products to support the Deputy Director of Patient Safety and Clinical Assurance who then reports to the Board of Directors in its internal control and assurance role.
  • Is responsible for advising senior staff, and through the Deputy Director of Patient Safety and Clinical Assurance, the Board of Directors, and on Board Assurance requirements and mechanisms in relation to Clinical/Quality Assurance across the trust.
