Description

We are urgently seeking a tutor in electrical engineering, who can also deliver apprenticeship training/mentoring on another trade, such as plumbing and/or carpentry.

We are keen to establish ourselves as a truly bespoke provider in this sector that produces high quality professionals. We truly aspire to be at the forefront of ensuring huge improvements to current provision, restoring confidence of employers.

This means we are seeking a true professional, with high level knowledge who has a passion for passing these expertise onto new apprentices.

Your main role will be Apprenticeship delivery and assessment, involving coaching and mentoring an existing and new caseload of apprentices through their apprenticeship.

You will be working with apprentices on both a 1-2-1 basis and in small groups, using a mix of distance delivery, site visits and when required, at our facility in Lowestoft (depending on apprentice needs).

This is a role where you will work both remotely and with the team at our facilities when needed.

You will be an independent professional with initiative, high level experience and competent with both lone working and working as part of a team.

You will also be developing Employer contacts to further grow the business using your industry knowledge.

Ideally, but not essential, you'll be able to deliver/mentor in the following trades:

  • Electrical Installations (ESSENTIAL)
  • Fully qualified to at least to level 3, 18th edition, including testing. Highly experienced and willing to complete initial assessor training if not already qualified.
  • Plumbing enough experience and ideally qualified to deliver in this area, but this is not essential.
  • Carpentry and joinery (not essential) enough experience to be able to mentor apprentices through the level 2 apprenticeship in carpentry (this is only when required).
This role is designed specifically for those who need to fit it around any current commitments within their trade. If you are still working within the trade, you may be able to fit this around your primary commitment.

This is also suitable for those looking to either change career or need a new challenge after working in the sector for many years.

This role is for circa 2-days per week to start, but is likely to increase significantly as we grow into the region, at which point we can either discuss more hours or expand the team.

Experience in taking apprentices through to successful end point assessment is highly desirable, but not essential as training will be provided.
