Description
We are a long established, hard working, family-run construction company based in Hockley, Birmingham.

Due to the ongoing expansion of our business (current turnover of approximately £18m), we are looking to appoint an experienced purchase ledger Accounts Assistant

Hours of work are 7.30am to 4.30pm

Happy to work in an office with a dog


Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
Reporting to the Finance Manager, main duties and responsibilities;

  • Deal with high volume of transactional entries onto Sage 50 Cloud Accounts e.g.
invoices, expenses, credit cards

  • Match invoices to delivery notes, add to Purchase Order log, distribute to Managers to
authorise

  • Reconcile monthly supplier statements to sage, follow up queries
  • Reconcile monthly credit cards with receipts
  • Match weekly fuel invoices to receipts
  • Produce petty cash expense forms & enter onto sage
  • Support the monthend accounting processes.
  • Administrative duties on behalf of the Finance Manager.

Skills and experience required

Qualifications

  • 5 GCSE's or above
AAT (desired but not essential)

  • Demonstrable strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • High level of organisational skills and experience.
  • Skilled in the use of information technology.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment, frequently under pressure, on multiple tasks. A "Cando" attitude.

Experience

  • At least two years' experience in financial accounting.

Experience using Sage Line 50 is essential, Excel & Microsoft Office.
