We are looking to appoint an Engineer to join our Marine team, this role will be based in our Glasgow office whilst supporting the team in our Marine Newcastle office on a full‐time, permanent basis. This role offers an unparalleled opportunity to work alongside a dedicated team of engineers and technicians on a varied portfolio of civil engineering projects within the marine environment.

The Marine Engineer will contribute to the design, assessment, and delivery of marine structures and coastal infrastructure, supporting the technical and project management aspects of marine engineering work. The role involves producing high‐quality technical outputs, undertaking inspections, preparing design documentation, and supporting successful project delivery in line with agreed budgets, timescales, and standards.

    • Produce clear, accurate technical reports, calculations, and supporting documentation.
    • Carry out site inspections, surveys, and assessments to inform design decisions.

    2. Project Management

    • Contribute to the planning and delivery of marine engineering projects in accordance with agreed timescales, budgets, and technical requirements.
    • Attend design meetings, progress meetings, and site visits as required.
    • Prepare, issue, and manage technical project information—such as calculations and drawings—in line with internal and project‐specific standards.

    3. Client & Stakeholder Engagement

    • Liaise professionally with clients, contractors, local authorities, and other designers.
    • Provide clear technical advice and guidance to support client objectives and project delivery.
    • Contribute to building and maintaining strong working relationships that enhance the reputation of the marine team.

    4. Quality & Compliance

    • Ensure all work complies with relevant Health & Safety legislation, including CDM Regulations, and other applicable codes of practice.
    • Maintain a strong focus on quality assurance and consistency of technical output.
    • Apply sound understanding of construction contracts and terms of appointment when engaging with clients and stakeholders.

    5. Leadership & Mentoring

    • Work collaboratively with colleagues of all levels, contributing to a positive and supportive team culture.
    • Support knowledge sharing, continuous learning, and best‐practice initiatives across the team.
