Description

We are currently working with a Cambridge based supplier of fire alarm and security solutions across East Anglia to recruit for a CAD Technician to be located on a permanent basis at their Head Office in Fordham, Cambridgeshire.

The role will involve;

  • Creating high quality detailed construction and as installed drawings using AutoCad & Microsoft Excel.
  • Amending drawings in accordance with instruction.
  • Issuing completed drawings to clients.
  • Assisting Projects Department with the creation and issue of Technical Submissions.
  • Attending client meetings and site visits.
  • Purchasing materials in a timely manner in line with existing supplier agreements.
  • Working closely with the Operations Director and Project Coordinator.
  • Managing all product returns to supply chain.
  • When repaired items come back in, liaising with relevant department to arrange part to be sent back to site or put into stock.
  • Ensuring necessary paperwork is obtained and processed promptly in adherence with the company's ISO procedures chasing when not received.
  • Progress chasing, dealing with clients and suppliers.
  • Assisting with the checking in of materials and goods in whilst maintaining a tidy environment.
  • Answering of incoming calls on the main line and when not picked up by other departments transferring call to appropriate person or taking and passing on messages.
  • Keeping on top of general filing and housekeeping.
  • Assisting with company website updates & newsletters.
  • Assist with company social media update LinkedIn/ Twitter etc
To be considered for this opportunity, you will ideally have;

  • At least 1 year's exposure and usage of AutoCAD software.
  • Knowledge of Word, Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and general IT skills
  • Sage experience will be preferred.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • A confident and professional telephone manner.
  • A positive cando attitude towards career development within the Fire & Security Industry.
  • Ability and desire to learn the legal and regulatory compliance for the Fire and Security Industries.
This position is offering the following benefits;

  • A basic salary of up to £28,000 depending on previous experience and exposure to the Fire & Security industry.
  • 23 days' annual leave, plus Bank Holidays and increasing with length of service.

Due to this employer's internal policies, you will be required to undergo a DBS check as part of this position.

A clear DBS is required for the role.
