Job summary:


We have some exciting and rewarding opportunities within the Digital Defence, who are leaders within Defence and growing, so now is a great time to join us and become part of our journey You will be part of a developing team working closely with the Core Enabling Services (CES) or Mission Information Exploitation (MIX) in Defence Digital.


You will help the Delivery Team to roll out services with an integrated set of policies, processes, standards, and technologies that create and manage digital identities - along with the ability to control associated access privileges - across Defence, our allies and other government departments.


As part of the government DDaT profession, the Delivery Manager role will work and be responsible for the creation and sustainment of a broad range of national and international intelligence information services at all security classifications.

This position is advertised at 37 hours per week


Job description:


The Project Support Officer will provide support to the Delivery Team and Delivery Manager, to deliver as the service or product goes through design, procurement, development, and delivery into service for both digital services and COTS products.

You will work closely with prospective customers to ensure that services are rolled out across defence in a timely fashion, ensuring stakeholders are fully briefed of progress throughout the delivery phases.

Your stakeholders may include individuals from Project Delivery, Operational Service Management, IT Service Centre, Supporting functions such as commercial and finance, wider Defence, and external suppliers.


Person specification:


  • Service management of Delivery Team services and products, including review and update of documentation, assistance with communication and coordination of resolving parties for major incidents, following processes for change requests and technical changes, and attendance at service review meetings.
  • Encourage and facilitate continuous improvement of the delivery team
  • Assist the team with transition of new services, COTS products and other deliverables into live service.
  • To establish a culture of continual improvement across delivery and services.
  • Communicate and engage with senior stakeholders, effectively managing expectations and escalating early where required.
  • Assist the delivery team with planning and reporting, including provision of management information, RAIDO management, forecasting of budgets, resources, and schedules.
  • Support the commercial management of suppliers, creation of business cases, management of products and services in line with appropriate governance.
  • Ensure management of assets is in line with governance, including a licence database for the delivery team.
  • Adopt lean and agile methodologies, tools, and techniques to support the Delivery Team
  • Provide logístical and administrative support to the MedIS Team, and act as one of the main points of contact for administrative tasks.
  • Work efficiently and effectively within a team, ensuring collaboration and good team dynamics are upheld and continuous improvement is embedded.
  • Identify obstacles and help the team to overcome them
  • Adopt lean and agile methodologies, tools, and techniques to support the Delivery Team
  • Communicate and engage with senior stakeholders, effectively managing expectations and escalating early where required.

This post is based at MoD Corsham.


However, the role may be suitable for hybrid working, which is an informal, non-contractual and voluntary arrangement, blending a balance of attendance in the workplace (your permanent duty station) and working from home as a personal choice.
