Warehouse Operative - Goods-In

Reports to the Production Manager
Sontay manufactures and supplies sensing and peripheral devices to the HVAC industry.


Working as part of the warehouse team, the Goods-In Operative is primarily responsible for overseeing the effective management of goods-in.

Ensuring that inventory is booked in and stored in the correct location.


Role Overview

  • Ensure that the goods inward department is well organised and efficient.
  • Check components quantities and supplier certificate of conformance paperwork are correct for each delivery and stock is booked in and stored in the correct location.
  • Conduct Goods receiving inspection, including the visual inspection of goods according to the PRD (product reference document).
  • Raise Non-Conformance reports for products that don't conform to specifications and register each NCR for subsequent analysis.
  • Keep goods inwards clear, clean, and tidy.
  • Liaise with relevant teams to sort out any queries.
  • Remain flexible and adaptable to changing priorities, such as unexpected rush orders or fluctuations in inventory levels, by quickly reprioritizing tasks to accommodate shifting demands.
  • They will also be required to take on other responsibilities within reason outside of their immediate remit.

Also:


  • The operator is responsible for the standard of their work, and any changes deviating from procedure must be authorized through your Manager.
  • The operator will be responsible for reporting breakages or substandard products or materials to their manager and the purchasing manager.
  • The operator must be always mindful of their own Health & Safety, and mindful of those around them in accordance with the Health & Safety Policy.
  • The operator is responsible for keeping a clean and tidy environment, stock, components, and tools. Putting things back as found being mindful for the next person that uses it.
  • The operator must be thoughtful of the environment, recycling where possible in accordance with the company's ISO14001 certification & "Know your Aspects" handbook.
  • The operator will follow policies and directives according to our ISO9001 Quality Management System.
  • The Operator may be asked to perform duties not immediately within their remit, and within reason. We expect all employees to perform these tasks, with the due care and diligence they would their own job.
  • The person must be punctual and if for some reason cannot be, must report this to their Manager at the earliest possible time.

Attributes & Qualifications

  • Must uphold the qualities and values expected as stated in the company Handbook.
  • The person taking on this role must be confident, and selfmotivated. Hardworking & organized person, comfortable working alone and as a team taking on tasks and their initiative where necessary. They must be comfortable working towards set goals and timing standards (KPIs) to ensure that orders are shipped on time.
  • Must be respectful and courteous to fellow workers, bringing to attention any unacceptable and inappropriate behavior to your manager.
  • The operator must have previous experience working in a warehousing environment.
  • The operative must have good attention to detail, be able to spot deficiencies in products.
  • Must be able to listen, to follow instructions given by colleagues and managers.
  • Previous knowledge working with an ERP, MRP system desirable but not essential.

Salary:
From £23,500.00 per year
