An opportunity has arisen for a motivated, well organized, committed individual happy to make decisions as this role involves working on their own.


This role will be based in Pullman Court, Gloucester Royal Hospital, 37.5 hours a week Monday -Friday for a fixed term of 12 months.

The successful applicant will provide an efficient, confidential & professional secretary service to the specialty teams. This will include administration and secretarial support to enable provisions of patients care.


Good communication skills with all members of the public, general practitioners and other teams within the hospital trust is essential to ensure a proficient, high quality service for patients and clinicians.

You will need to be able to meet targets and deadlines. Also you will need to be able to work under pressure whilst making decisions for the service.

Working within the NHS with experience of working in a team and also alone with a minimum of 6 months working within admissions / booking / patient access or a similar role with experience of TrakCare is desirable.

The Vascular Network provides specialist cover for Gloucester Royal as the hub with Swindon as a spoke. Both sites are extremely busy and requires an energetic but exceptionally organised person to join our specialist team.

This is a responsible role and you will be expected to use your own initiative, make decisions and deal sensitively with patient, their relatives and the wider healthcare team.

This role requires accurate audio typing, maintaining databases and data validation of electronic records. This role includes handling of patients notes which can sometimes be heavy.

You will be working as part of a team which will require good effective communication and the ability to work well with others


  • Evidence of appropriate experience within an Administrative post in the NHS.
  • Knowledge and awareness of national and local waiting time targets and data quality issues
  • Good and effective organisational skills including a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Must be able to demonstrate ongoing personal development and willing to undertake any internal training as needed.
  • Excellent Prioritisation skills
  • Able to work under pressure to meet deadlines
  • Flexible working patterns to include working trustwide
