About the role Working as a part of a team of SEA's, you will work closely with mental health workers, partners and other agencies.

The role involves line management of a small team of Employment Advisors including responsibility for implementing relevant aspects of MHM HR policies.

You will manage and coach the team to ensure the effective delivery of all work focused and none work focused interventions.

This role is integral to the management the employment advice service within NHS Talking Therapies.

You will work closely with clinical leads that provide leadership to clinicians who provide psychological therapies to people with common mental health problems.

You will provide direction to Employment Advisors that deliver support to service users to gain, return to or retain employment.

The role will involve working directly with lead Disability Employment Advisors at the Jobcentre Plus, NHS clinicians, employers, trade unions and employment agencies to keep people in employment and secure employment opportunities.


About you You will have experience of working within employment and knowledge of employment rights and job retention is a key component.

You will demonstrate an ability to prioritise a diverse workload and manage this effectively. You will understand the principles of the Equalities Act 2010 and how it relates to employment rights.

You will be educated to NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in the areas of Advice and Guidance, Health and Social Care or Customer Service.

An awareness and/or experience of working with people who have experienced mental health issues would be an advantage. You will be able to demonstrate the skills and abilities needed to help others identify and overcome employment barriers. You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be able to demonstrate a proactive and highly motivated attitude.
