LifeSearch are looking for a temporary Compliance manager for 6-12 months to cover maternity leave.


This role is a hybrid and we would like you to spend some time in our Milton Keynes office with possible travel to Leeds & London.


As our Compliance Manager, you will be responsible for the implementation and ongoing upkeep relating to all areas of compliance at LifeSearch as to enable the best possible advice and TCF for our customers at all times and will also assume the role of managingour Compliance Monitoring function.


You will educate the business so that all LifeSearch teams understand their entwined compliance and culture responsibilities to ensure suitable customer outcomes.

This means all LifeSearchers treating customers and each other fairly. Your sphere of influencespans across FCA regulatory requirements as well as professional standards, Data Protection law and best practice.


Your main responsibilities are:

  • Develop and continue to improve and evolve our Compliance monitoring methodology and activities
  • Lead our compliance monitoring processes
  • Ensure the business is adhering to key policies through monitoring activity i.e. TCF, Vulnerable Customers, Data Protection etc.
  • Act as first point of contact across the business for general compliance advice and know where to direct those queries that need to go to the Risk Manager, Data Protection Officer, Compliance Officer or the Head of Compliance
  • Coordinate and assist with annual process and policies reviews
  • Coordinate and assist with annual AR audits and SM&CR annual reviews
  • Maintain Financial promotion, conflict of interest, breaches and other regulatory record keeping registers as and when required
  • Quarterly monitoring of Training and Competency records and facilitate L&D content reviews
  • Maintain industry awareness through research, publications and attending regulatory training days
  • Lead the business on any regulatory changes and updates, influencing change at all levels where required
  • Communicate new policies and reminders across the business using the Intranet, attending meetings and communicating with peers
  • Alert the business to upcoming regulatory requirements and guidance
  • Assist the Data Protection Officer (DPO) for LifeSearch with Data monitoring tasks and activities such as data deletion requests, breaches and monitoring.
  • You will already possess or be willing to obtain a basic working knowledge of data protection law and practices
  • You will possess a strong working knowledge of regulatory standards with relevant previous experience in a similar role, and ensure that you hold the knowledge required to support the Head of Compliance.

You will need to be:

  • Preferably qualified with Advanced Certificate in Regulatory Compliance or similar
  • Compliance Monitoring experience
  • Financial Services industry compliance experience, protection sector advantageous
  • Experience of working with databases and online systems
  • Experience in delivering quality processes and procedures
  • Experience in delivering process changes
  • Forensic attention to detail
  • Good team worker & selfmotivator who remains calm under pressure, possesses high standards and flexible
  • Must be interested in building & contributing to the development of a growing business
