This is an exciting time to join a project team who will transform front end of upper and lower gastrointestinal pathway.

We are a progressive, busy and expanding team within Abdominal Surgery and Medicine.

We are looking for a Faster Diagnosis Service Senior Pathway Navigator who will lead on providing a professional, proactive and sensitive service to patients referred on a 62-day cancer pathway for suspected Upper and Lower Gastro-intestinal cancer.

The post holder will act as a main point of contact for patients, carers and the wider healthcare team, including primary, secondary and tertiary services.

This role is based at Royal Sussex County Hospital.

The post holder will be responsible for the coordination of the administrative function of the pathway, including and not limited to, arranging investigations, booking appointments, Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) discussions, and keeping patients informed at all times.

Through effective and efficient patient focused co-ordination of the pathway, patients will be given a diagnosis or exclusion of cancer at the earliest opportunity.
