The Role


Reporting into the Purchasing Manager you will be responsible for the following key duties Responsible for the management and purchasing of raw materials and other business procurement needs.


  • Develop, maintain and review supply strategies ensuring appropriate contingencies and ensuring ongoing supply.
  • Ensure that all purchasing processes that are critical to product safety, legality & quality are procured to defined requirements.
  • Ensure good supplier relations are maintained in both ethical and professional manner.
  • Work alongside commercial colleagues on continuous improvements programs
  • Undertake supplier visits & host supplier visits.
  • Identify areas of cost savings.
  • To action all internal and external supplier queries promptly and efficiently
  • Work closely with other departments including NPD, Sales, and Technical Services
  • Support Purchasing Assistant in the absence of the Purchasing Manager
What you'll need to succeed

You will have a demonstrable background within Purchasing / Procurement and be able to demonstrate the following skill set Strong supplier relationship, negotiation and commercial skills

  • Ability to work in a team orientated and collaborative environment
  • Good communication and presentation skills
  • Able to manage multiple suppliers and projects simultaneously
  • MCIPS Qualified or Working towards beneficial
  • Experience within Food / FMCG and commodities beneficial
