Office based in Cardiff with at least 1 day doing outreach work in Wales.


Salary £27,000 to £31,000

As part of our Restart programme, we will support participants on their journey to finding sustainable employment, enabling them to progress towards a more secure future.

The Restart programme will help people who have been unemployed for between 12 and 18 months get back into work, including those whose prospects for securing employment have been impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic.


Serco are currently looking for a Talented Digital and Functional skills Tutor to work for the wonderful Restart team in Cardiff the aim is to deliver effective and competitive digital skills training that increases participants' abilities to gain employment.

Training should be high quality, as judged by DWP.

As well as this role you will do outreach work as part of our social values it would be desirable if you can speak Arabic but not essential.


Key accountabilities

  • Contribute to the development of highquality materials, accessible to all learners, to maintain and enhance the quality of learning experiences in digital skills
  • Deliver digital skills training from entry level to level 3 to cohorts of learners via online learning platforms and other remote systems, and lead facetoface sessions, either in groups and workshops or onetoone as required
  • Complete formative diagnostics of learner evidence throughout the programme to ensure appropriate progress of learner towards gaining employment.
  • Work with Employment Coaches to prepare a personal development plan for each learner to ensure they complete in a timely manner
  • Ensure delivery of the digital skills training will allow learners to successfully complete within the given timescales
  • Work with Employment Coaches to provide appropriate Careers Education, Information, Advice and Guidance (CEIAG) to all learners on our programmes
  • Help and support with social value digital skills delivery one day a week to external community organisations

Essential technical and professional skills, knowledge and qualifications

  • Certified digital skills technical knowledge up to Level
  • Experience in delivering or assessing digital skills training up to Level
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of online and face to face teaching techniques
  • Ability to motivate learners throughout their programme of study
  • Strong communication skills
  • Effective research skills
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills
  • DBS and BPSS certification required before delivering to learners this can be completed during induction
