As a Senior Backend Engineer within our client's Chat squad, you'll have the opportunity to work with a talented and international team of engineers.

Our flexible working location allows most of our engineers to work remotely within the UK, but if you preferto come in and connect with other colleagues, our office is located in London.


As a Senior Backend Engineer, you'll be responsible for maintaining, developing, and delivering high-quality features and integrations on the platforms chat implementation, and other BAU tasks.

You'll work with Agile cross-functional squads that are directlyfocused on business targets, and a platform team focused on tech-strategy.

What you bring:


  • Experience working with Privacy by Design and User/Messaging Moderation Systems
  • Experience implementing and managing elaborate integrations with thirdparty APIs
  • Experience with Java 11 and GCP and Pub/Sub
  • Strong analytical and communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills
  • Experienced in software development methodologies
  • Experience with breaking down monoliths and designing and building complex systems using messageoriented microservice architectures
  • The ability to multitask

Desirable / Nice to have:


  • Experience with Java 17, Apache Beam, PostgreSQL, Kafka, Kubernetes, and Dataflow
  • Experience working with Infrastructure as Code technologies like Terraform
  • Experience being part of oncall support teams
  • Experience with SRE or similar infrastructure work
  • Fullstack development experience, creating front ends in React.
