Temporary Part - Time Post (to cover maternity leave until initially).

Full year 18 hours per week, Wednesday/Thursday/Friday (not term time only).

Potentially working 8.30am to 3.15pm with some flexibility to ensure service delivery.

We are looking for a caring and enthusiastic Community Outreach Worker who will be a dedicated team member within our Children's Centre and the wider south
, Early Help and Family Engagement Service.

The service at the Centre supports families primarily with children aged 0-5 years and works with the whole family in partnership, to offer support and advice on a range of everyday parenting challenges.

The successful applicant will;

  • Plan, deliver and evaluate high quality outreach and engagement services for children aged 0 5 and their families, particularly targeting those who are considered more vulnerable
  • Register families with children aged 05 years at the Centre and encourage them to access services
  • Maintain accurate and uptodate records and reports of all contacts and activities with children and families
  • Gather and share information on local needs for services and activities through both partnership working and ongoing community consultation with families living in the reach area and ensure organised groups and services reflect those needs
  • Promote free education and childcare for 2 year olds, encouraging eligible families to take up this offer
  • Demonstrate positive, high quality interactions with very young children
  • Have a flexible and committed approach and a willingness to be fully involved in all Centre aims and objectives
  • Have the ability to build and maintain positive, effective relationships with children, families and colleagues
  • Have excellent communication skills and have the desire to work as a proactive member of a complex team

Applicants must have one of the following:

  • Relevant minimum Level 3 qualification (childcare preferred), NVQs Level 3, Applied A Levels, BTEC First Certificates and Diplomas, City and Guilds Advanced Craft Part 3, or NQF Level 4 Certificates of Higher Education

Or

  • Evidence of the equivalent level of knowledge gained through work experience
