As part of our ongoing growth plan, we are seeking a driven, Traffic Planner to join our site logistics team.
As a Traffic Planner you will be responsible for ensuring the traffic function operates effectively and meets budgeted expectations.Working hours as Traffic Planner will be working a 4 on 4 off rotational day shift, some out of hours support may occasionally be required.
Salary £30,000 per annum
Key Responsibilities Traffic Planner:
- To ensure the Traffic function operates in accordance with company and legislative requirements.
- To ensure excellent customer relations are maintained and developed.
- To Maintain and develop the standards of employee performance, ensuring conduct and discipline is of a professional standard.
- The production and validation of accurate KPI's and financial data relevant to the operation.
- Ensure that there is a high awareness of Health & Safety and other operational requirements are maintained.
- Through effective forward planning, ensure all resources, people, material are utilised in the most efficient way.
- Ensure load planning and route scheduling is followed, following time constraints and service criteria.
- Ensure driver debriefings, reporting of poor and incomplete driver paperwork.
- Authorising and checking hours worked by each driver.
- Ensure PODS are regularly monitored, and the system is managed in accordance with CDSL and customer requirements.
- Managing and resolving customer complaints. Ensuring customer are fully briefed on delivery requirements and problems.
- Manage, control of PPE and ancillary equipment.
- Enable to make daily decisions on labour and subcontract costs.
- Conduct/assist with debriefs and investigations of RTA's and any other H&S infringements.
- Liaise with existing and potential customers to explore new business opportunities.
- Assist with customer projects.
- Manage and control levels of employee absence using appropriate procedures.
- Ensure a programme of continuous improvement is installed and manged within the operation.
Person Specification Traffic Planner:
Experience of working within the distribution/logistics industry in a supervisory capacity - Essential.
Knowledge of Road Transport and Tachograph Legislation - Essential.
Experience in budgetary control and employee engagement - Essential.
Knowledge of disciplinary and grievance procedures - Desirable.
Good working knowledge of UK geography - Essential.
Experience in ensuring loads are compatible and meet with ADR requirements - Desirable.
Experience of KPI management - Essential
Experience of hiring equipment to cover business needs - Desirable.
Confident presenting data to management and customers - Desirable.
Experience of adhering to service schedules - Desirable
Experience in handling customer complaints and resolution - Essential
Experience of coordinating recruitment and selection process - Desirable
Able to work as part of a team - Essential.
Able to maintain high levels of confidentiality - Essential.
Excellent IT skills - Essential
