Archaeological Services WYAS are seeking to appoint an Archaeological Archives, Records and Admin Assistant until the end of the financial year.

This is a fixed term contract opportunity for 6 months.


Archaeological Services WYAS are looking for enthusiastic person with experience of museum archives, practical skills and lots of common sense.

The job will involve getting your hands dirty, with lots of lifting and shifting, cataloguing, labelling and listing of material.

Computer literacy (word and excel) is important.

An interest in archaeology would help you engage with the processes involved, but no formal background in archaeology is required.

Communication skills are important as you will be working in a team.

Applicants for this post will demonstrate enthusiasm, common sense and have a great work ethic.

Our standard week is 37 hours.

As a trainee position, all appropriate supervision, training and feedback will be given. High quality PPE is also provided.
