South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking to appoint a Band 3 Generic Therapy Assistant on a permanent basis in the Hambleton and Richmondshire locality.

The post is an exciting opportunity to be involved in the development of the community therapy service, offering experience in the rehabilitation of patients with a wide range of conditions, supporting hospital discharge and prevention of admission.

To be successful in this role you will require sound core skills to support therapy services (Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy) within a community setting.


This post provides an excellent opportunity for someone with knowledge of local Health and Social Care environments, either taking their first step into a Band 3 role or someone who is already established.

The role brings a number of exciting factors together, including excellent MDT working across all health and social care services coupled with a beautiful location.

Excellent communication skills, organisational skills, enthusiasm, commitment and ability to work with a wide range of agencies are vital in this post.

You will also have the ability to problem solve and be able to respond flexibly to the changing needs of the service.


You will need to be able to work on your own and as part of a team and be involved with service users with a range of multiple medical, social and emotional problems.

The role will primarily involve visiting service users in their own homes and therefore the ability to travel independently is an essential part of this job.

Continuing professional development is actively encouraged and regular support and supervision will be provided by a registered therapist.

Participation in service developments and clinical governance is also expected, for which there is good support throughout the integrated Therapy service to help you develop.

South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust offers leadership and improvement training to all new staff to the Trust; this training programme has been designed to support our leaders in developing their understanding of leadership and management skills.

You will be expected to attend the New and Aspiring leaders programme, and the Foundation Quality Improvement Programme that the Trust delivers.

After you complete this one and a half day of training you will be able to explore further leadership and improvement training opportunities, we offer further in-house courses and bitesize programmes and leadership apprenticeships at level 3,5 and 7.
