Bank Catering Assistant, West Cumberland Hospital


An opportunity as arisen at North Cumbria Integrated Care based at West Cumberland Hospital in the busy Catering Department for a Bank Catering Assistant.

This is a zero hour contract and the employee will be required to work various shifts between the hours of hours of 7am - 7.45pm, Monday to Sunday including bank holidays.

The job entails general cleaning duties to a high standard, help with the packing of and distribution of frozen foodstuffs around the hospital and serving meals at ward level, working within the staff canteen and coffee shop as and when required.

The employee must have an understanding of food allergies and be able to follow instruction from a Team Leader.

The successful applicant must have the ability to both work alone and to work effectively as part of a team This is a large area to walk around and is a physically demanding job and you will be on your feet for most of the shift.

You will be responsible for reporting equipment faults to the Team Leader. You will be working in hot and cold environments.

The employee will also have the responsibility to follow all aspects of food safety and HACCP controls, this including the logging of hot and cold temperatures and that of fridges and freezers.

Full flexibility is required with this role and predominantly working at ward level.
