Person specification:
Key responsibilities
Whilst the responsibilities for each post will vary, as a Policy Advisor, we expect you to plan and manage a range of activities.
In all roles your responsibilities will include:
- Draft a range of clear and concise documents for various audiences, examples include: policy options, responses to consultations, meeting notes.
- Work collaboratively with various stakeholders to assess the impacts of different policy options
- Use evidence to help guide decisions that develop and deliver policy
- Attend meetings with internal and external stakeholders related to the policy area
- Communicate and update senior colleagues on policy proposals and documents
Skills and experience
Because we are looking to fill a number of roles through this exercise, we are not looking for a single, fixed set of skills.
- The ability to be organised so that you plan and prioritise to deliver effective results
- Ability to analyse and use a range of relevant, credible information to support decisions and present practical recommendations
- Work with autonomy and initiative, as well as collaborating as part of a team
- Written communication skills and the ability to establish and maintain strong stakeholder relationships
