The Role:


We are looking for a dynamic individual with a genuine enthusiasm for Transport Planning to work in our London office.

Our Transport Planning teams undertake strategic planning work, providing advice to private and public sector clients on a wide range of interesting transport and development planning projects across the UK.

The role demands a proactive approach in a team environment and offers substantial opportunity for career progression within the company.

Senior Transport Planners are expected to be technically competent in analysing the potential impact of development projects.

They need to be able to communicate confidently with clients and will contribute to the technical excellence of the team.

Senior Transport Planners can expect considerable experience on a variety of interesting and challenging projects.


Responsibilities:


  • Unsupervised production of technical feasibility studies, Transport Assessments/ Statements, Travel Plans.
  • Unsupervised production of other transport studies, ensuring outputs are delivered on time.
  • Skilled and experienced in traffic modelling, including signals modelling using LinSig, and able to coach other colleagues in its use.
  • Experienced in concept design of transport infrastructure including new junction arrangements.
  • Manage projects including consideration of projects financial health and client communications.
  • Working with junior staff to develop innovative transport solutions.
  • Managing junior staff as part of a project team.
  • Being commercially aware in producing work.
  • Being a good team player and contributing to a dynamic group.
  • Working proactively in producing technical studies and reports with mínimal direction from project managers.
  • Producing clear and wellstructured reports with mínimal guidance from project managers.

This role might be for you if you have:

Essential

  • HNC level (or equivalent qualification/ experience)
  • Experience in preparing technical feasibility studies, Transport Assessments and similar reports within the transport planning sector
  • Effective communicator
  • Proven technical track record and ability
  • Good team player to contribute to dynamic group
  • Commercially aware

Desirable

  • BSc/BEng/MEng/MSc
  • MCIHT/MILT/MICE
