We are looking for an
Academy Nutritionist to support the academy performance nutrition philosophy to maximise the players' health, development, and performance.

This important role will collaborate with all disciplines within the performance department and the wider academy.

It will also be responsible for the nutritional support and education of U- U18 academy players across both sites (Hale End Sports Ground and London Colney).

Your day-to-day

  • Assisting in the ongoing development and delivery of the Arsenal nutrition curriculum across all phases of development within the academy (U9-U18). This will involve theoretical & practical sessions to players, parents & host families.
  • Developing a comprehensive understanding of the nutritional requirements in long term athletic development and how best to translate this knowledge appropriately.
  • Preparing innovative educational material and messaging for players to be shared through various platforms.
  • Creating and developing a highperformance nutrition environment for young players at both sites (Hale End and London Colney).
  • Ensuring adherence to the nutrition programme by being present at mealtimes, conducting individual consultations with players and their support networks, and delivering regular education as part of the nutrition curriculum.
  • Liaising with chefs and kitchen staff to maintain appropriate nutrition content and high quality of food provision at both sites.
  • Ensuring matchday and travel strategies are optimised for performance and recovery including meal timings, macro nutrient content, and portion sizes.
  • Advising on the nutrition provision the club gives to players and staff at Hale End and London Colney in the restaurant and for match days, away trips, tournaments, and tours.
  • Developing, implementing, and evaluating bespoke nutrition programmes for elite players.
  • Implementing injury and rehabilitation nutrition support for players at Hale End and London Colney whilst working closely with other medical, fitness and coaching staff.
  • Completing body composition assessment and analysis using DEXA scan.
  • Implementing appropriate screening, testing, monitoring and assessment of academy players.
  • Preparing and submitting mid and full season progress reports with evidence of each squad & key identified player's nutritional development.

What we are looking for

  • A post graduate qualification in Sport & Exercise Nutrition (e.g., MSc, IOC Diploma).
  • Graduate or Practitioner registrant on the Sport and Exercise Nutrition register (SENr).
  • ISAK Level 1 anthropometry (desirable).
  • Previously worked in elite or professional sport.
  • Experience of delivering nutrition education & support to youth athletes.
  • Experience of using and managing nutrition supplements and ergogenic aids in sport.
  • Ability to easily build professional relationships to influence and motivate behaviour change.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to respond to the demands of elite football. Highly organised, proactive, and versatile in approach to achieving successful outcomes.
