THE ROLE


We're looking for someone who can get out and about, spending time with our amazing salmon producing and supply chain members on the west coast of Scotland and western and northern isles, and shooting and editing photos and videos.


The Digital Content Officer will have responsibility for populating and managing Salmon Scotland's social media channels and creating exciting digital content to drive awareness and engagement.

In addition, the role will require assisting in curating the Salmon Scotland's extensive multimedia library, to ensure the organisation derives maximum value from its communications.

This will include the opportunity to commission or create new content where necessary.


A thorough working knowledge of social media and content creation is essential, as is experience in website content management systems.


Salmon Scotland is committed to flexible working and currently offers a hybrid work week with a minimum of 3 days per week in our Edinburgh city centre office.


MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the Salmon Scotland digital and online presence, ensuring all websites and social media platforms present the sector and our member companies in line with a premium food and drink product.
  • Lead on the conception, production and use of, in line with Salmon Scotland brand guidelines and visual identity.
  • Work with Salmon Scotland's member companies to identify and develop photography and videography to promote our sector.
  • Work and develop our internal and external communications and external profile in a positive manner.

YOUR EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

  • A creative and innovative approach to digital content creation, with experience of shooting and editing videos.
  • Demonstrable experience using Photoshop, Premiere Pro and Final Cut Pro to develop short and long format video content. After Effects and animation skills would be an advantage.
  • Demonstrable experience creating and uploading engaging content across Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube and other social channels as well as the use of scheduling and analytics reporting tools.
  • Minimum two years' experience in a social media role.
  • You will need to be flexible in your approach and adaptive to changing priorities, with the ability to travel and work outside normal office hours at times. A full driving licence and access to a car is essential.
