Description

As a senior Psychologist in the wider forensic team, you will also be part of the team responding to other types of risky behaviour (other types of harm to others).

This follows a similar service model with a slightly different client group.

There will be opportunities to supervise other colleagues in their work, and link with other agencies to support their inputs to young people and their families.

The role will also involve supporting the local Youth Justice Service (YOS) in the counties in this and wider forensic work.

We have links with training courses and often support trainees in placement (forensic/clinical/other professionals). We have links to other National teams and are part of networks of practice. There are many opportunities to develop skills and competencies and support others in this too. Historically we have presented to conferences and contributed to research/articles.

The role is supervised by a consultant clinical psychologist and there are opportunities to contribute to wider CAMHS service developments and thinking if interested.

We are embedded within Specialist Services, so you will have unique opportunities to explore a career within Forensic CAMHS, as well as the wider CAMHS Teams.

Across all these services and teams, you will be exposed to a range of professionals, such as Clinical Psychologists, Psychiatrists, Social Workers, Occupational Therapists and Mental Health Nurses who will be willing to share their knowledge with you and develop your expertise.

We understand just how important a healthy work-life balance is, so we have opportunities for flexible working; including hybrid working methods, flexible hours, and sometimes also offer you the chance to work compressed hours too

Some of your other key duties will also include: Offering professional consultation & advice to multi-agency groups Facilitating training and offering resources to the wider professional network Offering direct treatment to young people with complex needs/displaying harmful sexual behaviour Close liaison and supervision of youth offending team and other clinicians
