Monday - Friday Days 09:00 - 17:00
Salary:
Between £31,000 - £33,000 DOE
We are currently seeking a Transport Planner to join our Transport team at our Wigan site.
As a Transport Planner you will be responsible for overseeing the day to day planning of the transport operation, through the efficient planning of the transport operation.
A highly motivated and driven individual, you will be experienced at working in a busy transport department, able to deal with day to day challenges and provide cost effective solutions to the customer.
Job responsibilities of a Transport Planner include:
- Load planning and liasing with customer factory production to efficiently build loads
- Planning daily workload for a fleet: vehicles based on site and Outbased vehicles.
- Liaising with Traffic and Administration teams to ensure the highest standards of performance are maintained at all times.
- Maintaining, creating and updating spreadsheets and databases for customer reports.
- Reporting problems and dealing with issues and any queries that arise
Qualifications
As a Transport Planner you will possess the following skill, experiences and qualifications:
- Be able to demonstrate a high level of transport planning expertise in a busy and demanding environment.
- Have excellent problem solving, analytical and organisational skills.
- Be able to make decisions under pressure, and to a tight timescale.
- Have a flexible and adaptable approach to working in order to meet the requirements of the business, particularly at peak periods during the year.
- Be able to communicate well at all levels within the business.
- Have the ability to identify and suggest improvements to benefit both the Company and our customer.
- Be a highly motivated individual able to work as part of a small friendly team, and under own initiative.
- Knowledge of SAP & Road Runner would be advantageous
