Role & Responsibilities:


We are looking to recruit an astute and experienced administrator to work within the School Place Planning Team as a technical expert to undertake Education Contribution Assessments to evaluate the need for contributions to mitigate the impact of housing development/growth across Lancashire to ensure that the council can meet its statutory duty to provide sufficient schools places.


  • Complete housing assessments to assess the likely impact of new housing developments on school places and seek financial contributions where needed.
  • To monitor and record housing assessment activity, appeals and planning permissions.
  • Complete schools' net capacity assessments
  • Provide administrative support on school provision review processes including the preparation of consultation documentation and distribution.
  • Record and summarise consultation responses.
  • Prepare information and intelligence from data held within the team, to inform any Freedom of Information Requests, VIP Mails, Basic Need Scoping, Local Plan Consultations, Planning Applications, School Appeals and more.
  • Provide specific project support as required.
  • Maintain knowledge and understanding of work of the wider team.
  • Maintain and monitor the team mailbox on behalf of the team.
  • Support with the collation of district housing land supply returns and provide the relevant analysis to support forecast updates.
  • Provide a problemsolving approach to tasks and seek solutions to complex problems.
