What will you be doing
About LRR Risk Oversight
The LRR Risk Oversight Team is responsible for providing second line of defence oversight of the Laws, Rules and Regulation ("LRR") Risk framework.
About Compliance Assurance
Compliance Assurance ("CA") supports Barclays' Compliance strategy through the delivery of a continuous programme of risk-based assurance activities across each of the three core Barclays entities, BI, BUK and BX, with CA teams aligned to each covering Conduct, Financial Crime, Reputational and LRR risks (collectively, 'Compliance Risk').
Overall purpose of role
The Director will be responsible for:
- Leading and coordinating LRR Assurance Reviews, focussing on compliance with the LRR Policy
- Building, leading and managing the individuals aligned to the LRR Assurance team in the UK and USA
- Building, owning and overseeing the execution of the LRR element of the annual CA Assurance plan; and approving (where applicable) assurance documentation (incl: review scopes, testing outcomes, work papers (including documentation of results) and draft / final assurance reports)
- Delivering the CA strategy
- Contributing as an active member of relevant CA leadership and management teams, influencing and making decisions in support of the whole CA function
- Managing relationships with key stakeholders across all entities, including the wider Compliance function
- Developing, supporting and providing guidance to team members and peers within the wider CA team by sharing best practice and promoting a 'one team' collaborative culture.
- Directing the LRR Assurance team and being an active contributor to CA management teams
- Effective execution of the LRR element of the annual CA Assurance plan
- Developing team members and maintaining an effective pipeline of talent
- Being a role model for the Barclays values of Respect, Integrity, Service, Excellence and Stewardship.
Ensure that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with regulatory requirements, Enterprise Wide Risk Management Framework and internal Barclays Policies and Policy Standards.
Essential Skills/Basic Qualifications:
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with ability to be proportionate, pragmatic and resilient. Confident and positive individual able to communicate with clarity and purpose both in written and verbal formats
- Proactive, adaptable, wellorganised, collaborative and able to prioritise work and commitments
- Able to work in an agile way
- Proficient in Microsoft Powerpoint, Word and Excel and experience coordinating meetings and forums.
