We are looking to recruit a Litigation Assistant to support our Debt Recovery department.

To ensure the effective recovery of our clients' unpaid debts from both customers and companies through either a process of negotiation and agreement with "debtors" or via the mechanisms of the court system in accordance with the Civil Procedure Rules ("CPR") and litigation procedures.


Responsibilities:


  • Working as part of a team to process a high volume of litigation cases within set SLA's.
  • Using the dialler system to facilitate outbound calls Courts, Solicitors and the Land Registry in order to review matters.
  • Drafting Letters of Claim, Claim Forms, Particulars of Claim, Judgment requests, Interim Applications, Witness Statements, Court documents and instructions to Agents or Counsel.
  • Reviewing reports and trackers to ensure files are actioned accordingly.
  • Assisting with enquiries from clients.
  • Successfully assess customer affordability inline with TCF/FCA guidelines to negotiate realistic repayment plans.
  • Achieving set targets in volume collections and productivity KPIs.
  • Using the debt management system to accurately record and note details of calls, key critical dates, payment plans and store documents.
  • Request templated and draft adhoc written communications.
  • Submit customer queries to clients, taking ownership and ensuring they are followed through from start to resolution.
  • Managing deadlines and competing work priorities
  • Adhere to DPA and company data security procedures to ensure the full protection of all customer, company and client data.
  • Any other duties within the scope and spirit of the post as required.

Person Specification:


  • Understanding of debt recovery processes in a consumer and/or commercial debt sector including knowledge of litigation processes from issuing claims through to varying enforcement methods.
  • Experience gained in a DCA, Debt Purchaser, Legal, Financial services, and/or Credit Control environment.
  • Excellent knowledge of both litigation and debt collection rules and regulations (including FCA, Civil Procedure Rules, DPA and OFCom).
  • Experience within a high volume, process driven, working environment.
