Piper Maddox are pleased to be supporting a global Tier one supplier in the Aerospace industry by finding a Principal Engineer to take technical ownership of Controls Systems Engineering.

This business has been investing heavily in Hydrogen propulsion technologiesfor Aircraft with a specialist site in Bristol that is leading their efforts.

This role is a key part of the business plans to develop and validate hydrogen-electric powertrains for Aircraft

What you will be doing:

  • Researching and developing control systems and software solutions for Hydrogen Powertrain systems
  • Design and developing test rig control systems including test planning and execution
  • Coordinate and complete early TRL research of safetycritical control software and hardware
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure the successful development of technology

What we are looking for:

  • A University degree in Control Systems or a related discipline
  • Previous experience in the design and development of control systems for electric vehicles
  • Proven experience developing safety critical systems from concept to validation
  • Familiarity with working to and following industry certification standards
  • A passion for working on sustainable technologies
