We are looking for a General Catering Assistant to join our Catering and Retail Services Office at House of Lords.
This is a position where you provide the highest standard of food service and maintain the highest standard of cleanliness and tidiness, according to current health and food hygiene legislation, at all times.
This is an opportunity to work onsite at ParliamentYou'll be accountable for/to:
- Serving customers and waiting staff with the correct food and beverage items as requested, exercising portion control and work closely with Line manager to achieve mínimal wastage.
- Reacting quickly, efficiently and courteously to customer needs, and to the request of managers, displaying a high standard of customer care.
- To keep their areas of responsibility clean and tidy at all times & ensure that food production and storage areas, service counters, public & kitchen areas are kept hygienically clean.
- Cashier duties in the restaurant as required.
- Follow cleaning rotas as directed, clean tables, chairs, display counters and fridges as required and descale coffee machines, soup kettles as directed.
- Ensure adequate stock of service utensils, disposable packaging, crockery, and replenish food supplies by requisitions from stores as required.
- Clear dirty crockery, cutlery etc from public areas.
- Sweep & mop floors, clear spillages, disposal of rubbish and general waste into designated areas.
What we're looking for:
- Strong and confident communicator.
- Knowledge of a café style restaurant.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Good knowledge of food hygiene, Health, and Safety regulations.
