Description
Obtain credit references for existing & potential customers, and establish / authorise credit limits for customer accounts,

  • Update customer records, and notify customer of the credit limit, trading terms and sale T&C's,
  • Prepare for monthend 90days debtors list for management reports, and highlight overview of 'problem' accounts,
  • Produce and issue monthly customer statements, and issue debtor chaser letters,
  • Refer any unpaid overdue (> 30 days after due date) account balances to a suitable Credit Collection Agency for collection. Monitor accounts referred throughout the month to ensure that the Collection Agency has uptodate information regarding paymentsreceived, unrecovered costs etc.
  • Maintenance of accounts receivable, making allocations of cash, general tidying of ledger balances),
  • Become familiar with all aspects of debt recovery by legal action, and procedures involved,
  • Oversee release of credit held sales orders. The appropriate credit control actions should be taken in the event of the nonrelease of the credit held sales orders,
  • In conjunction with the Failure Analysis Administration to receive customer debit notes, trace their progress through the company and take the appropriate action where the customer may have deducted them from their remittance,
  • Update all cashbook receipts daily by reference to bank statements for all UK accounts,
  • Process credit card payments from Customers (where required). Keep all relevant paperwork, ensure details are securely stored. Ensure correct payments are received into bank account,
  • To maintain physical accounts files for third party sales invoices & credit notes, filed in numerical order on a daily basis,
  • Liaise with legal advisers and involve their help in collecting troublesome accounts (where required).

The Right Person

  • Part OR fully qualified AAT, or qualified by experience,
  • Previous credit control experience in an SME environment,
  • Effective & confident communication skills,
  • Proactive and able to work on own initiative with mínimal supervision,
  • Excellent planning, organisation and deadline time keeping skills,
  • Good IT skills incl. Microsoft Excel. Experience with Syteline preferred, but no essential (training will be provided).

Package

  • Appointment Type: Interim (3months)
  • Hours: Full/Part-Time (30 to 37.5hours per week)
  • Holiday 25 Days + Bank Holidays
