We are looking for a
Senior Data Masking Engineer with significant practical working experience in Test Data Management, Quality Assurance and Environment Management within Enterprise Organisations.

A natural who can motivate and influencepeople across business and technology domains, whilst implementing our data privacy rules into secure data provisioning solutions.

Your primary focus is to define, implement and maintain the data masking algorithms utilised by Virgin Money's Enterprise TestData Management solution Delphix.


Day to day you'll:


Operate as part of the Data as a Service (DaaS) Center of Excellence (CoE), working closely with the Technical Product owner and IS Security / Data Governance in deriving and creating masking rules inline with the data masking strategy, adhering to complianceregulations on the usage of personally identifiable information (PII) data and other sensitive data elements in non-production environments.


You will also provide data masking consultancy to new technology areas providing advice and recommendations on the best approach and supporting toolset to use when masking data.

Working with the Test Data Management Specialists feeding into designs for datarefresh, data loading and data provisioning techniques. Inputting to the Test data management discipline by defining scalable data masking, data sub-setting, and data generation approaches.

Regularly you will perform scans to identify new PII data within theenvironment and updates the data masking processes to mask the newly discovered data.


To be successful you'll need to bring

  • Experience working in Technology.
  • Experience with test data management, data masking tool(s) & techniques preferably Delphix.
  • Experience with SQL database queries and programming.
  • Demonstrated expertise in data masking concepts, with proven implementation experience.
  • Knowledge of data privacy rules and regulations.
  • Familiarity with data quality, cleaning, and data mining.
  • Excellent attention to detail, followthrough and customer focused orientation.
  • Strong analytical, decision making and problemsolving abilities, with demonstrated troubleshooting and debugging skills.
  • Ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

The following would be not essential:

  • Experience in implementing Test Data Management solutions at scale and integrating with Test Environment Strategies.
  • Knowledge of agile testing frameworks including Test-Driven Development, Behaviour Driven Development and Scrum in an agile environment.
  • Strong understanding of testing requirements and functional and non functional requirements.
  • Strong demonstratable experience of working in commercial agile environments including continuous integration, test automation, automated software releases, cloud environment experience highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of Synthetic data creation techniques and tools.
